Juneau-Park-Beer-Garden

Looking for one of the best summer beer gardens in Milwaukee? The Juneau Beer Garden is back for the season and once again bringing craft beer, lakefront views, live music, and laid-back summer vibes to Milwaukee’s Lower East Side.

Located inside scenic Juneau Park overlooking Lake Michigan, this longtime favorite has officially transitioned from a stop on Milwaukee County Parks’ traveling beer garden tour into a full-season destination open May through September.

2026 Opening Date & Hours

The opening date for the season is May 15.

Hours

  • Monday: Closed

  • Tuesday–Friday: 4–9 p.m.

  • Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 11 a.m.–9 p.m.

Whether you want an after-work beer, a weekend family outing, or a summer date night with live music, this spot checks a lot of boxes.

What Makes Juneau Beer Garden Special?

The setting is hard to beat. You’re tucked into the trees of Juneau Park but still right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Families spread out on the grass, groups gather around picnic tables, and walkers and bikers frequently stop in along the lakefront path.

It’s one of those rare Milwaukee spots where tourists, downtown workers, families, and craft beer fans all naturally mix together.

And unlike some beer gardens that lean heavily traditional, Juneau’s tap list rotates frequently and features breweries from across Wisconsin and the Midwest.

What’s On Tap This Season?

The current lineup includes a strong mix of local favorites, hazy IPAs, easy-drinking lagers, sours, gluten-free options, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Wisconsin Favorites

Some recognizable Wisconsin classics currently on tap include:

  • Spotted Cow from New Glarus Brewing Company

  • Riverwest Stein from Lakefront Brewery

  • 3 Sheeps Pils from 3 Sheeps Brewing Company

  • 90 Red from Lion's Tail Brewing Company

Hazy & Hop-Forward Picks

IPA fans have plenty of options:

  • Heavenly Haze

  • Cyber Sue

  • Set List

  • Tropical Rabbit

Fruity & Summer-Friendly Options

Looking for something lighter or fruit-forward?

  • Mango Cart

  • Frog Weiss

  • Raspberry Outboard

  • Spekto Kooler

Gluten-Free & Non-Alcoholic Options

One thing Juneau Beer Garden does especially well is offering solid NA and gluten-free choices, including:

  • New Grist IPA

  • Gluten-Free Radler

  • Extended Play NA

  • Third Space Hop Water N/A

That makes this a much more inclusive stop for groups with varying tastes and dietary needs.

Food Menu

The menu keeps things classic and beer-garden friendly:

  • All-beef hot dogs

  • Bratwursts

  • Bavarian pretzels (including a giant “Beast Pretzel”)

  • Nachos

  • Popcorn

  • Kettle corn

  • Chips and snacks

It’s not a full restaurant menu, but there’s enough for a casual lunch or dinner while enjoying the park.

Live Music All Summer Long

One of the biggest draws is the free live music lineup under the Third Space Brewing tent.

Music runs from 5:30–7:30 p.m. on select evenings throughout the summer.

Some upcoming performers include:

  • Gene Gruber

  • Josh Trimble

  • Maxwell James

  • Jorge Vallentine

  • Johnny G

  • Barefoot Mike

  • Matt Mueller

  • Sam Rodewald

The music schedule rotates regularly throughout May, June, July, and August.

Tips Before You Go

  • Arrive early on warm weekends if you want a picnic table.

  • The lakefront location can get breezy after sunset — bring a sweatshirt.

  • This is a very family-friendly environment during the day.

  • Parking nearby can fill up quickly during festivals and summer weekends.

  • The beer garden is walking distance from downtown attractions and the lakefront trail system.

Final Thoughts

Milwaukee has no shortage of great beer gardens, but the combination of skyline views, Lake Michigan breezes, rotating Wisconsin craft beer, and live music makes the Juneau Beer Garden one of the city’s quintessential summer experiences.

Whether you’re stopping in after a lakefront walk, meeting friends downtown, or looking for a relaxed family outing, this is one Milwaukee summer tradition worth adding to your list.
