Fox Point Turns 100! The 2026 Year of Celebrations

fox point 100

Break out the party hats and birthday candles—the Village of Fox Point is turning 100 years old, and they're throwing a year-long celebration that families won't want to miss.

From its founding in 1926 to today, Fox Point has grown into one of Milwaukee's most beloved North Shore communities. Now the village is marking this historic milestone with a lineup of events designed to bring neighbors together, honor local history, and have some serious fun along the way.

Here's everything you need to know about the Fox Point Centennial celebrations.

Winter Kickoff: 100th Anniversary Celebration

Sunday, February 15, 2026 | Longacre Pavilion

The official festivities begin in February with a cozy winter gathering perfect for the whole family.

Main Program (1:00–2:00 PM)

Head to Longacre Pavilion for the ceremonial heart of the celebration, featuring:

  • An official proclamation recognizing Fox Point's 100-year milestone

  • Dedication of the Fox Point Centennial time capsule (how cool will it be when someone opens that in 2126?)

  • Treats and hot beverages to warm up on a February afternoon

Historical Bus Tours

Want to explore Fox Point's rich history? Hop on a guided bus tour highlighting the village's most significant landmarks. Tours run at 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:00 PM, but space is limited—sign up in advance.

Summer Blowout: Centennial Summer Celebration

Saturday, June 13, 2026 | Various Locations

Mark your calendars now, because this is going to be the Fox Point event of the year. The village is packing an entire day with activities, and there's truly something for everyone.

Morning Activities

Centennial Freedom PT Run-Walk | 8:00 AM

Lace up your sneakers for a run-walk that doubles as a history lesson. The course winds past notable Fox Point landmarks, with QR codes along the route so you can learn about each site as you go. It's a clever way to get some exercise while discovering stories about the community you might never have known. Race registration is available through the Village website.

Fox Point Farmers Market Opening Day | 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

The beloved Fox Point Farmers Market kicks off its 2026 season on the same day! Browse local vendors, enjoy live music, and soak up the community atmosphere. You'll find the market in the North Shore Congregational Church parking lot.

Village Open House | 10:00 AM–12:00 PM

This is the can't-miss event for kids. Little ones can get up close with police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and public works equipment—and actually climb inside many of them. Chat with Fox Point's police officers, firefighters, and EMTs, and visit booths from local organizations with information and giveaways.

Midday & Afternoon

Centennial Tree-Planting & Plaque Dedication | 12:00–12:30 PM

Join neighbors for a brief but meaningful ceremony as the village plants a centennial tree and dedicates a commemorative plaque. The ceremony takes place on the boulevard of E. Community Place, between the Police Department and Stormonth.

Afternoon Community Gathering | 12:00–3:00 PM

Cap off the day at Longacre Pavilion with food trucks, beverages, live music, and activities for kids of all ages. This is prime time to grab a bite, let the kids run around, and celebrate with your Fox Point neighbors.

Fall Finale: Fox Point Showcase

Fall 2026 | Date TBD

The centennial year wraps up with an open house-style weekend event showcasing Fox Point's architecture, history, and distinctive neighborhoods. Details are still coming, so watch the Village's event notifications for updates.

Tips for Families

For the February event: Dress warmly and arrive early if you want to catch a bus tour—those tend to fill up fast.

For the June celebration: With events running from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, you don't have to do it all. The Village Open House (10:00 AM–12:00 PM) and Afternoon Gathering (12:00–3:00 PM) are the most kid-friendly portions if you're working around nap schedules.

Don't forget: Sign up for the Village's Events and Activities notification list so you don't miss any centennial updates—including details on the fall showcase.

Get Involved

Want to be part of the action? The Village is looking for volunteers and sponsors to help make the centennial celebrations a success. Contact the Assistant Village Manager with your name, phone number, and how you'd like to help.

The Bottom Line

Fox Point's 100th birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone, and the village is doing it right with celebrations spread throughout the year. Whether you're a longtime resident who remembers decades of Fox Point history or a young family just getting to know your North Shore neighbors, these events offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community and create some new memories.

We'll see you at the party, Fox Point!
