Boo at the Zoo 2025: A Family Halloween Adventure
The Milwaukee County Zoo is transforming into a not-so-spooky wonderland this October with Boo at the Zoo, presented by Prairie Farms Dairy. Back by popular demand and expanded for 2025, families can now enjoy two weekends of Halloween fun: October 17–19 and October 24–26, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each night.
Trick-or-Treat and More
Pack your costumes (and your candy bags!) because the highlight for kids is the Trick-or-Treat Trail through Adventure Africa, featuring six different treat stops. Don’t forget—treat bags are not provided, so bring your own. Along the way, you’ll find themed areas like the Candy Corn Farmer’s Market, Pumpkin Park, and Haunted Hollow, each designed to be fun without the frights.
Attractions for All Ages
Boo at the Zoo isn’t just about candy—it’s about atmosphere and experiences. Families can:
Be amazed by a dazzling Halloween light show.
Watch live pumpkin-carving demonstrations and stroll the glowing Gourd Gallery with hundreds of carved pumpkins.
Get hands-on with Mad Science of Milwaukee, where kids can enjoy spooky experiments.
Wander through the Harvest Haystack Maze and try not to get too lost.
Spot stilt walkers and other lively entertainers roaming the grounds.
Animals After Dark
Many indoor exhibits stay open late, including the Aquatic & Reptile Center, Big Cat Country, Primates of the World, and Apes of Africa. It’s a special chance to see animals in a unique, twilight setting. (Note: outdoor animals won’t be on view for their safety.)
Food, Fun, and Family Time
When the candy isn’t enough, refuel at one of the Zoo’s food and beverage stands. Seasonal treats and family-friendly meals will be available throughout the evening.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are good only for the selected evening. Parking (a $15 value) is included.
