So Where Is the Best Shopping in Door County?

If shopping is a major goal of your trip, here's how I'd break it down:

Fish Creek has the strongest concentration of fashion boutiques, resale and easily walkable shopping.

Egg Harbor offers an excellent mix of women's fashion, gifts, jewelry, art and the many businesses inside the Main Street Shops.

Sister Bay is especially strong for lifestyle stores, outdoor clothing, vintage finds and modern gifts.

Sturgeon Bay has arguably the deepest year-round shopping scene, particularly around Third Avenue, Madison Avenue and Jefferson Street.

Ellison Bay and Ephraim have fewer stores, but several of the peninsula's most distinctive shops.

Destination Door County also maintains a countywide shopping directory if you want to explore even more.

Our Perfect Door County Boutique Crawl

If I had one full shopping day, I'd start in Egg Harbor with Sunrise on Main, Patricia Shoppe, Spot, WISH and the Main Street Shops.

Then I'd head north to Fish Creek, park the car and walk downtown for Sister Golden, Fred & Co., Blue Ivy, Spruce, Love Letter, Zeke's, Seven Sisters and Bayside before heading up the hill for Hart & Hart and Willowbury Lane.

Continue through Ephraim for Everyday Château and finish in Sister Bay with kindgoods, Ecology, Twisted Tree, Bay Birch and a little Bargains Unlimited treasure hunting.

Of course, that leaves an entirely separate Sturgeon Bay shopping day for Wilkins & Olander, Hey Daisy, Monticello, moon+stone, The Pearl, Reclaimed & Co., Bliss and the rest of downtown.

Then celebrate your restraint—or lack thereof—with dinner and a Door County sunset.
