How to Get Support During the Government Shutdown
The ongoing federal government shutdown has created uncertainty for many families who rely on SNAP benefits and other federal assistance programs. If you're worried about how you'll feed your family in the coming weeks, or if you want to help neighbors in need, our North Shore community has mobilized to ensure no one goes without.
The Shorewood Foundation has responded swiftly to this crisis with an emergency grant of $20,000 to support students, families, and seniors affected by delayed or disrupted benefits.
Food assistance is available now in the form of Kroger gift cards distributed through:
Shorewood Community Network
Shorewood Senior Resource Center
Shorewood School District
If you or someone you know needs support, reach out to these organizations directly. This assistance is available specifically to help bridge the gap during this time of confusion and delayed benefits.
How You Can Help Your Neighbors
