With Halloween falling on Saturday, October 31, 2026, you can build a weekend around daytime family activities, evening scares or a little of both. Some festivities begin Thursday, October 29.

Schedules can change with weather and organizer updates. All times are Central.

Jack O’ Lantern Days in Fish Creek

Fish Creek offers one of the easiest places to build a full Halloween day around costumes, treats and activities.

The celebration begins with pumpkin carving at Bayside Tavern on Thursday, October 29, at 7 p.m. Friday brings a Door County YMCA Trunk or Treat from 4:30–6:30 p.m. and Halloween Glow Ball at Evergreen Miniature Golf from 6–8 p.m.

Saturday, October 31, highlights include:

  • 9 a.m.–noon: Mask Making Extravaganza at Peninsula School of Art.

  • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.: Gibraltar Fire & Rescue open house.

  • 10 a.m.–4 p.m.: Open Door Bird Sanctuary’s interactive raptor exhibit at Founder’s Square.

  • 1 p.m.: Bonnie Smith Memorial Halloween Costume March at Clark Park.

  • 1:30–4:30 p.m.: Trick-or-treating at local businesses.

  • 2 p.m.: Magic show at Old Town Hall.

  • 6–8 p.m.: Haunted Trail at Fish Creek Park and Halloween Glow Ball at Evergreen Miniature Golf.

Organizers recommend 6–6:30 p.m. on the haunted trail for families with small children. Bayside Tavern also lists an adult Halloween party at 8 p.m.

Check the official Jack O’ Lantern Days schedule before choosing your stops.

Thrills & Chills in Sturgeon Bay

Sturgeon Bay’s Thrills & Chills takes place Saturday, October 31, with its main downtown celebration centered on the morning.

Start at Martin Park for the 9:30 a.m. Witches’ Dance performance, followed by costume judging at 9:45 a.m. The kids’ costume parade begins at 10 a.m., traveling along Third Avenue toward the Old Bell Tower.

From 10 a.m.–noon, families can trick-or-treat at participating businesses in the East and West Waterfront Districts. Community Foundation Square, 222 N. Third Avenue, also hosts inflatables, a selfie station, drinks and music.

Additional activities include:

  • 9 a.m.–2 p.m.: Halloween activities at the Door County Library.

  • 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m.: Haunted house and activities at the Boys & Girls Club of Door County.

  • Noon–3 p.m.: Kids’ costume dance party at Kitty O’Reillys.

Citywide residential trick-or-treating is a separate event, scheduled for 4–7 p.m.

Use the official Thrills & Chills page for participating businesses and additional activities.

Ephraim Pumpkin Walk

For a Halloween afternoon built around village exploring, head to Ephraim’s Pumpkin Walk on Saturday, October 31, from 2–6 p.m.

The celebration includes trick-or-treating at Ephraim Historical Foundation museum sites and local businesses, a make-your-own caramel apple station, jack-o’-lantern contests and free tram rides between museum sites.

This is a good choice for families who prefer treats and fall activities to a haunted attraction. It also works as an afternoon stop after Sturgeon Bay’s morning celebration, provided you leave time for lunch and the drive north.

Find the event flyer and updates on the official Ephraim Pumpkin Walk page.

Red Barn Haunted Corn Maze

Looking for a bigger scare? Red Barn’s Haunted Corn Maze takes place Friday, October 30, at 7125 County Road J near Forestville.

The schedule separates lighter scares from the nighttime experience:

  • 5:30 p.m.: Ticket booth opens.

  • 6–7 p.m.: “Lights up” maze with lighter scares.

  • 7–10 p.m.: Dark maze experience.

Tickets are $15, purchased in person at the gate. Admission includes a black light, haunted hayride and haunted corn maze. The organizer limits admission to the first 275 people or the ticket-sales cutoff, whichever comes first.

Children ages 6–14 should be accompanied by an adult. The later experience can include loud noises, fog, strobe lights, chainsaws and uneven ground, making it a better choice for visitors comfortable with an active haunt.

Review the official haunted maze details and restrictions before going.

Door County Ghost Tours

Trolley of the Doomed

Door County Trolley’s Ghost Tour combines local ghost stories with visits to places associated with the peninsula’s eerie legends.

The approximately 2½-hour tour welcomes ages 5 and older; children under 5 are not permitted. The published October–November departure time is 6 p.m., leaving from 8030 Highway 42 in Egg Harbor.

This is an option for families with school-age children who enjoy spooky storytelling. Consider your child’s comfort with cemeteries, darkness and ghost stories before booking.

Check the Ghost Tour booking calendar for available dates and seats.

Haunted Pub Crawl

For an adults-only Halloween outing, the Haunted Pub Crawl is for ages 21 and older, with valid identification required.

The approximately 3½-hour outing departs at 7 p.m. from the trolley station. The published schedule lists Friday and Saturday departures during September and October, followed by Saturdays in November.

See the official Haunted Pub Crawl details for reservations, current pricing and departure availability.

An Easy Door County Halloween Weekend Plan

Friday, October 30: Choose Red Barn’s haunted maze for a scare-focused evening, or keep things lighter with Fish Creek’s trunk-or-treat and glow miniature golf.

Saturday morning, October 31: Start with Sturgeon Bay’s costume parade and downtown trick-or-treating, or spend the morning at Fish Creek’s art, fire station and raptor activities.

Saturday afternoon: Choose Fish Creek’s costume march and business trick-or-treating or Ephraim’s Pumpkin Walk. Their schedules overlap, so give yourself time to enjoy one rather than rushing through everything.

Saturday evening: Pick the Fish Creek haunted trail, a reserved ghost tour or Sturgeon Bay’s residential trick-or-treating.

Sunday, November 1: Leave room for breakfast and a relaxed trip home. Our Door County fall guide has ideas for extending the weekend with scenery and outdoor exploring.
