What to Expect at the 2026 Whitefish Bay Art Fest

Art from 100 Juried Artists

The heart of the festival is its collection of original artwork created by 100 juried artists from around the country. Visitors can browse thousands of pieces spanning painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, glass, fiber art, mixed media, printmaking, drawing, woodwork and handcrafted furniture.

Unlike a traditional gallery visit, Art Fest gives you a chance to meet the artists, ask about their techniques and hear the stories behind their work. Look for signs identifying live demonstrations and artists offering kid-friendly, interactive experiences.

Kids Art Zone

The Kids Art Zone makes this more than a shopping event for families. Planned activities include:

  • Art Fest bingo

  • Spin art

  • Sand sculpture

  • Coloring and drawing

  • Hands-on art projects

  • Face painting

Some artists also offer demonstrations or opportunities for children to learn how their pieces are created.

Live Music, Food and Drinks

Live music provides a relaxed soundtrack while visitors explore the festival blocks. You can also take a break with tacos, cold lemonade, beer and other festival refreshments.

Because the event runs through the heart of the village’s shopping district, it is easy to pair your visit with breakfast, lunch or a treat from one of the restaurants and cafés along Silver Spring Drive. Local boutiques and shops will also be open throughout the weekend.

Tips for Visiting with Kids

Arriving close to 10 a.m. generally means cooler temperatures, lighter crowds and an easier time finding nearby parking. Allow at least an hour to explore, or longer if your children want to spend time in the Kids Art Zone.

Bring sunscreen, water and a stroller for younger children. The festival route is paved and relatively compact, making it manageable for families. Check the official event page before leaving home for any weather-related announcements or last-minute updates.

Make a Day of It in Whitefish Bay
