Get the costumes and candy buckets ready! The Village of Bayside will hold its official 2026 neighborhood trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 31, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Unlike 2025, when Bayside celebrated on the Sunday before Halloween, this year’s event lands directly on Halloween—which falls on a Saturday in 2026.

Bayside Trick-or-Treat Safety Reminders
The Village of Bayside encourages families to follow a few simple safety precautions:
Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Look both ways before crossing streets.
Motorists should drive slowly and watch carefully for children.
Children should wait until they return home and an adult has checked their candy before eating any treats.
Visit homes that are clearly participating, typically indicated by an illuminated porch light.

More Bayside Halloween Fun at Schlitz Audubon
Families can begin the Halloween fun early at Species Spooktacular at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This self-guided indoor-and-outdoor adventure introduces visitors to some of nature’s spooky and misunderstood animals. Costumes are encouraged.
Activities include:
Meeting live animal ambassadors, including snakes, tarantulas, turtles and raptors
Voting for a favorite costumed taxidermy animal
Hiking to activity stations at the pavilion, observation tower and maple grove
Playing games and making seasonal crafts
Receiving a sweet treat after visiting all the stations
Families may arrive anytime during the five-hour event and explore at their own pace. Schlitz Audubon recommends arriving before 2 p.m. to leave enough time to complete the entire experience.
The program takes place rain or shine and is designed for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
