The Traveling Beer Garden is rolling into Sheridan Park this July, bringing live music, local beer, food, dog-friendly activities and summer park vibes to one of Milwaukee County’s lakefront gems.

The Sheridan Park stop runs July 8 through July 26, 2026 at Sheridan Park, 4800 S. Lake Drive in Cudahy. The Traveling Beer Garden is part of Milwaukee County Parks’ “Roll Out the Barrel” tour, which turns county parks into temporary beer gardens from May through September. Hours are Monday through Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (Milwaukee County)

Opening Night at Sheridan Park

The Sheridan Park stop kicks off Wednesday, July 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. To celebrate opening night, there will be free beer and root beer for 20 minutes beginning at 5 p.m.

That short free-beer window usually goes quickly, so this is one of those nights where it pays to arrive right at the start. Bring a blanket or chairs, grab a spot, and settle in for one of the most relaxed summer traditions in Milwaukee County.

Live Music Schedule at Sheridan Park

Food, Drinks and What’s on Tap

The Traveling Beer Garden serves a rotating selection of craft beer from local and regional breweries, plus seltzers and non-alcoholic drinks. Traditional beer garden snacks include hot dogs, brats, Bavarian pretzels, nachos and Sprecher Root Beer Floats. (Milwaukee County)

Betos Tacos & Potatoes will also be part of the Sheridan Park stop, making this an easy dinner-in-the-park night for families. Follow Betos on Facebook for food truck updates.

Dog Lure Days at Sheridan Park

Bring the dog along for the fun. Alt Dog Run will host Dog Lure Days at Sheridan Park on July 8, July 18 and July 25.

The lure course gives dogs a chance to run, chase and burn off energy while families enjoy the beer garden. The official Traveling Beer Garden page notes that Alt Dog Run’s schedule can fluctuate, so follow Alt Dog Run on Facebook before you go. (Milwaukee County)

Art and Hops Night Market

The Sheridan Park Art and Hops Night Market is scheduled for Thursday, July 9.

This is a great night to visit if you want more than beer and music. The Art and Hops markets bring local artists and makers into the park during the first Thursday of each Traveling Beer Garden stop. The official page says more than 30 artists join the evening market. (Milwaukee County)

Follow Art and Hops on Instagram for vendor previews and updates.

Make It a Full Sheridan Park Outing

Sheridan Park is more than a beer garden stop. The park map shows shoreline access, the Oak Leaf Trail, picnic areas, restrooms, a tot lot, tennis courts, basketball, baseball and softball areas, and a swimming and wading pool area. (Milwaukee County)

Sheridan Pool is also located at 4800 S. Lake Drive and features a large pool, drop slides, a water mushroom, a wading pool and an adjacent play area. For 2026, Milwaukee County Parks lists Sheridan Pool as open June 20 through August 16, closed Tuesdays, with open swim Wednesday through Monday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and night swim Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Milwaukee County)

That makes Sheridan Park a strong family plan: swim or walk the trail earlier in the day, then stay for food, music and the beer garden in the evening.
