Chucho’s Red Tacos Coming to Fox Point
Fox Point is getting a new destination for birria tacos.
The Village of Fox Point has approved plans for Chucho’s Red Tacos to open a restaurant with a drive-through at 310 W. Bradley Road, bringing one of Milwaukee’s best-known birria specialists to the North Shore.
The Fox Point Village Board unanimously approved the restaurant’s conditional-use permit 7–0 on August 18, 2026, following an earlier review by the Plan Commission.
An opening date has not yet been announced.
According to Fox Point’s August 18 Village Board agenda, Chucho’s applied for permission to operate a restaurant with a drive-through at 310 W. Bradley Road.
The Village Board subsequently approved the conditional-use permit unanimously.
That clears an important municipal hurdle for the new restaurant, although there are still plenty of details we don’t know—including an opening date, hours and exactly how the drive-through will operate.
What Is Chucho’s Red Tacos?
If you love birria, there’s a good chance Chucho’s is already on your Milwaukee taco radar.
Chucho’s specializes in slow-cooked birria, particularly the crispy red tacos that are dipped in chile-infused broth before hitting the griddle and then served with consommé for dipping.
The restaurant currently offers both beef and chicken birria, along with quesitacos and other Mexican favorites.
Chucho’s describes itself as family-friendly and also offers catering and private-party options.

One of Milwaukee’s Standout Birria Stops

The restaurant built its following around its signature red tacos and consommé and has expanded its presence around Milwaukee in recent years.
Its main restaurant is located at 4511 S. 6th Street in Milwaukee, and Chucho’s has also operated at venues including Zócalo Food Park and Ope! Brewing Co.
A Fox Point restaurant would give North Shore families a much closer option.
Why the Fox Point Location Is Interesting
The new location could fill a particularly useful niche for families.
First, Fox Point and the surrounding North Shore currently have relatively few restaurants specializing in birria.
Second, the proposed drive-through could make Chucho’s an unusually convenient option for grabbing dinner after school, sports practices or other family activities.
And if you’ve ever tried to manage a restaurant meal with tired kids after a long day, a drive-through serving birria tacos sounds pretty appealing.

It also comes after the closure of longtime Fox Point Mexican restaurant José’s Blue Sombrero, making the arrival of another Mexican restaurant particularly notable for the area.
When Will Chucho’s Red Tacos Open in Fox Point?
That’s the big question.
As of now, Chucho’s official website does not list Fox Point among its locations, and the restaurant has not publicly announced an opening date for 310 W. Bradley Road.
The August approval should therefore be viewed as an important step toward opening—not confirmation that the restaurant is ready to begin serving customers.
