Free Admission Day at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum

Betty Brinn Children’s Museum

If you’ve been meaning to do the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, this is your monthly reminder: You can get free admission on the third Thursday of every month (with a few important fine-print-y details).

  • What: Free admission for museum guests (excluding groups of 10+)

  • When: Thursday, January 15, 2026

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Where: Betty Brinn Children’s Museum (downtown Milwaukee, lakefront area)

  • Tickets / reservations: Advanced reservations are recommended

  • Recurs: Every month on the third Thursday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

What to know before you go

1) Reservations are a smart move.
Even though it’s free, it can still “sell out” in the sense that timed entry slots fill up. If you can, reserve ahead so you’re not negotiating with a disappointed child at the front door.

2) Groups of 10+ aren’t included.
If you’re rolling deep (playgroup, scout troop, cousins + neighbors + everyone’s best friend), double-check the group admission rules before you go.

3) Pick your timing strategically.
If your crew does best with fewer crowds, try:

  • right at opening (9:00 a.m.) or

  • later in the afternoon / early evening (often calmer than midday)

Why this is worth it

The Betty Brinn is one of those places where kids can actually do things—build, climb, experiment, pretend, create—without you having to shush them every 30 seconds like you’re running a tiny library. Free days make it especially easy to pop in for a shorter visit and still feel like you got a win.

Mark it for the rest of the year

This event happens every third Thursday, same hours (9 a.m. – 7 p.m.). It’s a great monthly tradition to keep in your back pocket for winter, rainy days, or “we need to leave the house before we all start arguing with the dog” moments.

North Shore Family Adventures

North Shore Family Adventures was created by a dad to two (one boy, one girl), who is always looking for entertainment and activities in all season for his kids. His favorite area hike is Lion’s Den Gorge and favorite biking path is the Oak Leaf Trail. Come explore with us.
