2026 Mequon Memorial Day: Service date, time and location

Flags

Mequon residents are invited to gather on Monday, May 25, for a Memorial Day observance honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

This year’s Memorial Day service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the steps of City Hall along Cedarburg Road. The community is welcome to attend this meaningful ceremony of remembrance.

Following the City Hall service, residents are invited to continue the observance at American Legion Post #457, located at 6050 W. Mequon Road. A special presentation will honor Lt. Howard J. Schroeder, a World War II aviator and the namesake of Mequon’s American Legion Post.

The program at the American Legion will include a flag folding ceremony conducted by U.S. Marines, followed by the playing of taps. All are welcome to attend this special presentation, which will be followed by a free lunch.

Memorial Day is a time to pause, reflect and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. This local observance offers families and neighbors a chance to come together in gratitude and remembrance.

As a reminder, all non-emergency City offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
