Friendship Circle Bike4Friendship Returns to the North Shore
July 20th brings the return of one of our area's most meaningful community events – the 5th Annual Bike4Friendship. This event is a celebration of inclusion, community spirit, and the power of coming together for a great cause.
Whether your family includes seasoned cyclists ready to tackle 100 miles or little ones just learning to ride, there's a place for everyone. The event offers multiple participation options:
Family-friendly 1-mile to 5K walk or roll – perfect for families with young children, strollers, or anyone who prefers a leisurely pace
30-mile ride – ideal for intermediate cyclists looking for a solid workout
60-mile challenge – for those wanting to push their limits
100-mile epic – designed for serious cycling enthusiasts
The longer routes start right here in Fox Point and wind through Wisconsin's beautiful bike trails, ending at the Conservancy for Healing and Heritage in Franklin.
More Than Just a Bike Ride
The morning kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast, followed by festivities that kids will love – including horse rides and a bounce house starting at 8:30 a.m. The community send-off ceremony at 9 a.m. creates an inspiring atmosphere that shows participants they're part of something bigger than just a bike ride.
"It's hard to express just how special and empowering Bike4Friendship is. When people come together like this, it shows those living in our community with disabilities and mental health challenges that they matter," explains Levi Stein, president of Friendship Circle of Wisconsin.
The funds raised through Bike4Friendship directly support Friendship Circle's mission of creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges right here in our community. Their Fox Point location houses the Friendship Cafe & Bakery, which provides meaningful employment opportunities while serving delicious food to neighbors.
This year's goal is to raise $180,000 – funds that will continue supporting social, educational, and vocational programs that break down barriers and foster genuine friendships.
Getting Involved
Registration is $50, and you can sign up in advance at fcwi.org/bike or on the day of the event. For those taking on the longer rides (30, 60, or 100 miles), there's a $360 minimum fundraising requirement – but many participants find that friends and family are eager to support such a worthy cause.
Whether your family is looking for a fun morning activity, a fitness challenge, or a way to give back to the community, Bike4Friendship offers all three.
