Door County Family Adventures: A Guide to Our Favorite Spots
The iconic goats on the roof at Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay, Door County
There's something special about Door County that keeps drawing our family back year after year. As a parent of two—one adventurous 14-year-old girl and an energetic 11-year-old boy—I know how important it is to find a balance of adventure, relaxation, and delicious eats. Here’s our family’s go-to guide, categorized for your next Door County trip.
Where to Stay
Northwoods Farmstead (Ephraim) Our top pick for family lodging. This charming retreat offers spacious grounds, cozy accommodations, a fire pit for evening relaxation, and a garage filled with darts, board games, and plenty of kid-friendly activities. It’s off the main busy street in Sister Bay, but very close by for a short drive (minutes away!) to some of our favorite places to hang out, eat, shop and relax. The location also just refinished the small barn by the fire pit so now there’s an indoor and outdoor bar, arcade games and an 8-person sauna.
