Trick or treating in Milwaukee's North Shore

Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026. Most confirmed North Shore residential trick-or-treat hours are 1–4 p.m., giving families the afternoon for costumes and candy. Thiensville is an early-date exception: Sunday, October 25, 3–6 p.m. Brown Deer’s 2026 residential hours still need confirmation.

Whitefish Bay

Saturday, October 31, 1–4 p.m. The Village of Whitefish Bay has announced its 2026 hours. Downtown merchant trick-or-treating is a separate event on October 24.

Fox Point

Bayside

Saturday, October 31, 1–4 p.m. Bayside included the 2026 hours in its Village Board packet.

Shorewood

Saturday, October 31, 1–4 p.m. The event appears on Shorewood’s village calendar.

River Hills

Saturday, October 31, 1–4 p.m. River Hills is listed with these hours in the 2026 Wisconsin trick-or-treat directory.

Thiensville

Glendale

Brown Deer

2026 residential hours have not yet been confirmed. Brown Deer held afternoon trick-or-treating in 2025, but families should wait for a current announcement before planning around the same schedule. Brown Deer’s separate Halloween event is listed below.

Brown Deer Harvest Fest and Trunk-or-Treat — October 3

Brown Deer’s Harvest Fest runs Saturday, October 3, from 5–7:30 p.m. at Community Square Park in the Original Village. Trunk-or-Treat begins at 6 p.m., with music, games, crafts and food trucks also planned. See the Harvest Fest event details before you go.

St. Monica’s “Horror on Halloween” — October 16

Horror on Halloween

St. Monica’s eighth grade presents “Horror on Halloween: Sherlock Holmes Investigates” on Friday, October 16, from 5:30–8:30 p.m. in Donovan Hall at St. Monica School, 5635 N. Santa Monica Boulevard in Whitefish Bay. The flyer promises a haunted walkthrough, games, food and drinks, with a “Not So Scary” period from 5:30–6 p.m. for families seeking a gentler start.

Buy St. Monica tickets in advance; the school says the price increases on the night of the event.

Whitefish Bay merchant trick-or-treating — October 24

Businesses on Silver Spring Drive plan to hand out treats on Saturday, October 24, from 10 a.m.–noon. Check the Merchants of Whitefish Bay event calendar for updates. This is separate from residential trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Glendale Spooktacular — October 24

Glendale’s Spooktacular is listed for Saturday, October 24. Check the event listing for the latest time, location and activities. Whitefish Bay Great Pumpkin Festival — October 28–31

The Great Pumpkin Festival returns to Old School House Park Wednesday, October 28, through Saturday, October 31. The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation lists pumpkin displays, music, food and a beer tent each evening from 6–9 p.m. Families can check festival details and pumpkin drop-off instructions.

A few tips for Halloween afternoon

Visit homes with porch lights on, use sidewalks and crossings where available, and add something reflective to costumes if your plans continue after dark. Check your community’s hours once more as October 31 approaches, especially if you’re trick-or-treating in Brown Deer.
