Whitefish Bay U13 Baseball World Series: Schedule, Scores, Results

Whitefish Bay Little League

Whitefish Bay’s U13 Intermediate All-Stars are competing in the Intermediate Division World Series in Livermore, California, the first Wisconsin team ever to qualify for the tournament at this level, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The tournament runs July 27–August 3, and the Central Region champion Whitefish Bay squad opened play Sunday, July 27 with a 7-0 win over the East team from New Jersey. The squad then dropped a close game 5-4 against the Southwest team, lost 10-3 against Southeast and came up short 4-3 against Canada.

The tournament games air on ESPN+.

Central 50/70 came up just short in a tough 4-3 loss to Canada on Thursday, surrendering the lead late in the sixth inning. After falling behind 2-0 early, Central rallied in the bottom of the fourth with key hits from Adrian Van Caster and Julian Pande to take a 3-2 lead.

The momentum shifted again in the sixth, when Canada tied the game with a single and scored the go-ahead run on a balk. Despite a solid performance from starter Chase Adam, who struck out three over two innings, Central couldn’t reclaim the lead.

Julian Pande drove in two runs, and Chase Adam went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the offense. Central also flashed some defense, turning a double play, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Canada’s late push.

In game one, the team was powered by a combined shutout from pitchers Theodore Dickerson, Hudson Fox and Josh Irwin. Dickerson started strong, allowing just one hit and no runs over three innings while striking out four. Fox and Irwin followed with scoreless relief appearances to close out the game, with Irwin securing the final out on a strikeout.

Central jumped ahead early with a first-inning sacrifice fly from Dickerson and never looked back. Benjamin Currie drove in two runs, while Stuart Dickerson led the offense with two hits. Julian Pande added pressure on the bases with two stolen bases.

In their second game, Central fell just short in a close 5-4 game against Southwest. Central scored early with help from a hit batter and an error, but Southwest battled back, tying the game in the fourth and taking the lead in the fifth on a Collin Chiappetta RBI single. Josh Irwin struck out eight in his start for Central, while Adrian Van Caster went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. Theodore Dickerson drove in two runs, and Cy Kirklin led Southwest with two RBIs and two hits.

The Intermediate World Series features U13 players, and the tournament culminates with a United States champion vs. an international champion.

Whitefish Bay earned its berth after dominating the Central Regional Tournament in Ankeny, Iowa, with wins over:

  • Iowa (5–0)

  • Michigan (10–0)

The players include Chase Adam, Tyler Arnold, Mateo Blake, Ben Currie, Stu Dickerson, Teddy Dickerson, Hudson Fox, Will Gee, Wyatt Gray, Josh Irwin, Dutch McCartan, Julian Pande, and Adrian Van Caster.

This victory follows a summer of success with youth baseball in Whitefish Bay: The Whitefish Bay Little League Juniors won the Wisconsin State Tournament, qualifying them to represent Wisconsin in the Central Division Juniors Regionals in Midland, MI.  The U12 Whitefish Bay baseball team also won the state tournament for the first time in history.

Whitefish Bay Baseball gaining attention

This Little League success comes as Whitefish Bay baseball gains major attention. In a recent Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article, the community was highlighted for producing four MLB draft picks over the past two years and seven since 2009. The Blue Dukes baseball team also won a WIAA high school state championship in 2023.

Among the notable Blue Dukes names:

  • J.D. Dix, 2023 1st-round pick (Diamondbacks)

  • Brady Counsell, 2025 10th-round pick (Diamondbacks) and son of former Brewers manager Craig Counsell

  • Mitch Voit, 2025 1st-round pick (Mets)

  • Brady Marget, 2024 16th-round pick (Rays)

“It’s become a hotbed for pro-baseball talent,” wrote the Journal Sentinel, noting that Whitefish Bay’s development pipeline—fueled by elite coaching, offseason programs, and deep community support—has elevated the town to national recognition.

Coaches like Jay Wojcinski, who led Bay to a state title before joining Germantown, credit both the players' work ethic and the community culture.
