WFB 62K Invites Whitefish Bay to Walk, Run or Bike Every Street

Running

Whitefish Bay has a new way to get outside, stay active and see the village from a fresh perspective.

The WFB 62K is a flexible community challenge that invites residents, families and neighbors to cover every street in Whitefish Bay — roughly 62 kilometers — on their own schedule. There is no official race day, no set course and no pressure to finish all at once.

Participants can walk, run, bike or mix it up between now and Sept. 30, 2026, completing the challenge at whatever pace works best for them.

How the WFB 62K works

The goal is simple: complete 62 kilometers anywhere in Whitefish Bay.

That could mean a morning walk before work, a family bike ride after dinner, a weekend run through a new part of the village or a summer-long effort to explore every block. Participants can track their progress with an app, watch, map or even by memory.

If biking is part of your plan, our North Shore Milwaukee biking guide is another helpful resource if you’re looking to get out on two wheels.

As you make your way through the Bay, you might even find yourself wondering about Whitefish Bay’s street name meanings or discovering new appreciation for the village’s history.

Why 62K?

Whitefish Bay has roughly 62 kilometers of streets, and the WFB 62K is designed to encourage people to experience all corners of the community.

It is part fitness challenge, part neighborhood scavenger hunt and part invitation to slow down and notice the places that make the village feel like home. It’s also a great excuse to explore more of the village, from familiar blocks to streets you may not travel often. For more local ideas, check out our guide to Whitefish Bay family events and activities.

More than anything, the challenge is meant to build a deeper connection to the community. It’s the kind of summer activity that can turn an ordinary walk into a new family tradition, especially when paired with stops at favorite neighborhood places like Klode Park and beach.

What participants receive

Registration includes an official WFB 62K t-shirt, along with the motivation to get outside and start exploring. Finishers also earn the satisfaction — and bragging rights — of knowing they covered every street in the Bay.

More than anything, the challenge is meant to build a deeper connection to the community.

Supporting local playgrounds

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s WFB 62K will support the Richards and Cumberland playgrounds, helping ensure those spaces continue to serve kids and families for years to come.

The event is organized by the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, which supports local initiatives, events and community improvements throughout the village.

Whether you finish in a week or take the whole summer, the spirit of the WFB 62K is the same: get moving, explore the Bay and enjoy the community — your way, together-ish. For more active local events, you can also browse our guide to North Shore Milwaukee fun runs.
