Whitefish Bay High School Theater Presents “Little Women”

Little women

Whitefish Bay High School’s fall play promises to be a heartfelt, timeless celebration of courage, creativity, and sisterhood. This November, the WFBHS Theater program will present Kate Hamill’s acclaimed adaptation of Little Women—a refreshingly modern take on Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel that continues to inspire audiences more than 150 years after its publication.

Performances will take place November 14th and 15th at 7:00 p.m., with a matinee on November 16th at 2:00 p.m., in the Whitefish Bay High School Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for students, available online at WFBHSTHEATER.COM.

Hamill’s Little Women has been praised nationwide as “a sublime example of how to make 19th-century works relevant to modern audiences.” At its heart is Jo March—a bold, headstrong young woman determined to become a great American novelist. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, Jo and her sisters navigate a world defined by gender, class, and expectation as they grow into their own voices and ambitions.

This adaptation infuses Alcott’s familiar story with humor, heart, and modern urgency, celebrating four dreamers who are destined to be, in their own ways, imperfect and extraordinary. The production invites audiences to reflect on what it means to create, to love, and to persevere in a world that often underestimates women’s power.

The WFBHS cast and crew have poured months of dedication into bringing this moving story to life—complete with evocative period staging, heartfelt performances, and a fresh, relatable spirit that connects generations.

Whether you grew up with Little Women or are discovering it for the first time, this is a chance to experience one of literature’s most beloved families in a new light.

Come join the Whitefish Bay High School Theater for a powerful, moving experience that celebrates imagination, resilience, and the ties that bind us all.
