Taste of Mequon 2026: A Family Guide

Taste of Mequon returns Saturday, September 12, 2026, bringing nine hours of live music, local food, artists and family activities to the streets surrounding Mequon City Hall.

Now in its 13th year, this free community festival regularly attracts an estimated 12,000 to 15,000 people. Here’s what families should know before attending.

2026 Live Music Lineup

The complete 2026 main-stage lineup has now been announced:

The Taxmen: 12:30–2:30 p.m.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels: 3–5:30 p.m.

The Noisy Neighbors: 6–9 p.m., with a brief intermission

The schedule leaves short breaks between performances, giving families time to grab food, explore the vendor booths or visit the children’s area.

What Is Taste of Mequon?

Taste of Mequon was first developed in 2013 as a way to spotlight community restaurants, artists and entertainers while bringing residents and local businesses together.

The event has since grown into one of Ozaukee County’s largest annual community celebrations. According to the City of Mequon, attendance typically ranges from 12,000 to 15,000 people.

There is no charge for admission or entertainment. Visitors pay only for the food, beverages and merchandise they choose to purchase.

Food and Beverage Vendors

Food is naturally one of the festival’s biggest attractions. Previous Taste of Mequon celebrations have included more than 30 food and beverage vendors serving barbecue, tacos, pizza, sushi, African cuisine, Thai food, doughnuts, desserts, wine and other festival favorites.

Past vendors have included That Taco Guy, Café Hollander, The Smokin C’s BBQ, Frankies Food Truck, Kha Sushi Land, Immy’s African Cuisine, Strolling Donuts, The Ruby Tap, Marco Pollo, Vocado MKE, AppeThai and Hot Box Pizza.

The 2026 vendor list has not yet been released. The festival’s accepted-vendors page will be updated as participants are confirmed.

Because individual vendors may have different payment policies, bringing both a card and some cash is a good idea.

Artists, Makers and Community Booths

Taste of Mequon is more than a food festival. Visitors can browse booths featuring artwork and handcrafted products from local artists and makers.

Community organizations and area businesses also participate, making the festival an easy way to learn about services, programs and upcoming activities around Mequon.

Applications are still being accepted for food vendors, artists, craftspeople and other exhibitors. Businesses interested in participating can review the 2026 vendor information.

Children’s Activities

The City has confirmed that Taste of Mequon will once again include activities designed especially for children, although the detailed 2026 children’s schedule has not yet been announced.

In 2025, the children’s area offered free inflatables, art activities, face painting, balloon artists and professional caricature drawings. A separate children’s stage featured performances by local dance studios and martial arts organizations.

Those specific attractions should be considered examples from the previous festival until the 2026 schedule is released.

Parking and Transportation

The City has not yet published a complete 2026 parking and shuttle plan.

In 2025, attendees could park at Homestead High School and ride a complimentary shuttle to the festival. Families planning to use the shuttle in 2026 should confirm that service on the official festival website closer to September.

Because North Cedarburg Road will be closed in front of City Hall and the Frank L. Weyenberg Library, expect traffic changes and limited parking near the festival grounds.

Tips for Visiting with Kids

Arrive near noon if you want to explore before the largest afternoon and evening crowds arrive.

Wear comfortable shoes because the festival stretches across a closed section of Cedarburg Road. A stroller or wagon may be helpful for younger children.

Check the weather before leaving and bring sunscreen or light layers as needed. Most of the festival takes place outdoors.

If you plan to stay for the headlining performance, allow time to eat and visit the children’s area earlier in the afternoon.

Festival policies also prohibit carrying alcoholic beverages into or out of the designated event entrances.

The music schedule is confirmed, but the complete food-vendor list, children’s activities and parking information are still being finalized as of July 18.
